I manage communications for Lever and MFN, coordinating social media, strategy and priorities, and events.

Why is this project important to you?

I’m excited about the idea of connecting founders across the state and providing equitable resources for everyone involved. It’s important to show entrepreneurs and founders that there is more than just the Boston bubble to encourage entrepreneurship throughout the Commonwealth.

What are you hoping to offer founders and entrepreneurs in MA as part of MFN?

As Communications Manager, I am most excited about the sharing of information and fostering connections through open communications. I think the Founders Forum and the Founders Journal are going to be unique tools to learn more and share ideas about a variety of topics. I haven’t seen many other forums solely focused on entrepreneurship and innovation and we’ve heard feedback from founders that they would love a way to have broad discussions. This seems like it would fulfill that specific need.

I’m also excited about the idea of getting creative with the sharing of content. Most of the content relating to entrepreneurship is typically presented in a very traditional format. My experience with the Lever social media accounts has set me up to plan dynamic communications strategies to better reach and engage the founders in the network. There is an opportunity to be creative and rethink how we can share and create content.

Why do you think supporting entrepreneurs is important for Massachusetts?

I’ve seen firsthand the importance of entrepreneurship in Massachusetts for job creation and economic development. Working for Lever, I’ve had the privilege to work with a wide variety of entrepreneurs and innovators and it is always invigorating to hear their ideas and see their excitement about tackling a specific problem or changing an existing system. It’s important to show that there are significant economic development opportunities tied to entrepreneurship. A statewide project will allow us to harvest the necessary metrics and data to validate this ideology.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to read, ski, practice yoga, and take walks in the sun.

Founders are everywhere, but resources aren’t.

That’s a shame, because the next big idea could come from anywhere.

The Massachusetts Founder Network aims to bridge the gap, giving startup founders equitable access to resources that will help their companies grow.

We support MA founders no matter where they come from, their company’s stage, or their business sector. We want to democratize access to the resources that will help them accelerate—and excel. All founders are welcome to find resources and community at MFN while creating connections, expanding their networks, and learning from one another.

About MFN

The Massachusetts Founders Network is a central hub for all things startups, fostering innovation and collaboration across the state. MFN offers valuable networking, resources, mentorship, and community for startup founders in Massachusetts.

MFN is produced by Lever, a startup accelerator based in North Adams. Our work is supported by funding from and collaboration with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, based in Westborough.

We’ve been advising and connecting with entrepreneurs for years, and we’re using that knowledge and network to launch something new, with the help of an advisory board of successful founders and major players in the startup ecosystem.

We plan to launch the Massachusetts Founders Network in summer 2023. Sign up for our newsletter to get alerts about our launch, new features, and MFN events!
