VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

Hi! I’m John Wall, and for almost 20 years now, I’ve done the Marketing Over Coffee podcast where we’ve kept track of what’s going on in both the marketing and technology spaces. Part of this is working with entrepreneurs and larger businesses to find out what’s the most effective way to grow your business. I myself have worked in startups, about seven different companies over the years, but about 12 years ago, I moved back to Berkshire County and began working with Lever and some of their partner companies. We’ve had a number of programs where we’ve talked to entrepreneurs about the types of activities that they’re doing to grow their business, and we know that they have the challenge of limited funds and time.

So there’s a lot of tactics that you can apply that we’ve seen proven over the years that can help you grow faster, get more customers, and become more successful. Currently, I’m a partner at a company called Trust Insights. I’ve worked there with Christopher Penn, my co-host on the podcast. We’ve been together for 20 years now, but over the years, we’ve found that as people are applying more technology and analytics to their business, they tend to need some outside experience on how to integrate multiple systems or learn best practices on reporting systems without having to build them on their own. That’s the seed that planted Trust Insights.

Over the years, we’ve put together the Marketing Over Coffee playbook which talks about a number of different tactics that you can use. It gives practical examples of them in the field, and gives you even a copy that you can use for your own campaigns to save yourself time and effort not having to start from scratch every time you’re doing a new marketing program.

I’ve also authored a second book, B2B Marketing Confessions, that talks about all the different traction frameworks. There’s over 20 different tactics that businesses can use to grow their business and get more customers. The book goes through each of them, explains the logistics and what needs to be done on each of them, common approaches to creating an effective copy, how to measure results, everything you need to know on the tactical side to be effective and successful in your marketing campaigns.

Founders are everywhere, but resources aren’t.

That’s a shame, because the next big idea could come from anywhere.

The Massachusetts Founder Network aims to bridge the gap, giving startup founders equitable access to resources that will help their companies grow.

We support MA founders no matter where they come from, their company’s stage, or their business sector. We want to democratize access to the resources that will help them accelerate—and excel. All founders are welcome to find resources and community at MFN while creating connections, expanding their networks, and learning from one another.

About MFN

The Massachusetts Founders Network is a central hub for all things startups, fostering innovation and collaboration across the state. MFN offers valuable networking, resources, mentorship, and community for startup founders in Massachusetts.

MFN is produced by Lever, a startup accelerator based in North Adams. Our work is supported by funding from and collaboration with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, based in Westborough.

We’ve been advising and connecting with entrepreneurs for years, and we’re using that knowledge and network to launch something new, with the help of an advisory board of successful founders and major players in the startup ecosystem.

We plan to launch the Massachusetts Founders Network in summer 2023. Sign up for our newsletter to get alerts about our launch, new features, and MFN events!
