The Go-To-Market Series Guide

John Wall is a marketing expert and partner at Trust Insights, a marketing analytics consulting firm specializing in leveraging data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) to empower businesses with actionable insights. John helped create this Go-To-Market strategy guide for founders to easily find the resources they need to further their business. This resource will help you get started, here’s what John has to offer:

The entrepreneur’s journey is everything from coming up with a “change the world” product, all the way down to dealing with details like taxes and shipping. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lever over the years, getting the opportunity to share some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way, whether they were wins or beatings taken!

This guide will provide support for the entrepreneur’s two areas of focus: creating a product, and building a business. Creating a product is driven by the entrepreneur’s view of the world, which is embodied in their strategy. Your strategy will guide you in your attempt to stay ahead of customers and anticipate where the market is going. While your tactics may change frequently, your guiding principles will remain your guiding star until the world changes.

Here’s our guiding principle – research on startups has shown that successful entrepreneurs spend half their time working on the product, and the other half of the time working to gain and satisfy customers. On top of that is the challenge of all the logistics that go into creating and running a business. This guide will cover the most common questions founders have while growing their business.

We’ll also dive into over 20 proven tactics on how to get more customers. See the traction diagram below to give you an idea of all the possible options out there (and we’ll talk more about why you should limit yourself to only three to get started!)

The topic list below asks the questions, and as the guide is built out, these articles will go live. The schedule is not carved in stone, if you have any of these questions you need answered we’re happy to help. And your feedback is always appreciated. Remember that we learn more by sharing our failures than our successes. Contact us at info@massfoundersnetwork.org for any suggestions.

Founders are everywhere, but resources aren’t.

That’s a shame, because the next big idea could come from anywhere.

The Massachusetts Founder Network aims to bridge the gap, giving startup founders equitable access to resources that will help their companies grow.

We support MA founders no matter where they come from, their company’s stage, or their business sector. We want to democratize access to the resources that will help them accelerate—and excel. All founders are welcome to find resources and community at MFN while creating connections, expanding their networks, and learning from one another.

About MFN

The Massachusetts Founders Network is a central hub for all things startups, fostering innovation and collaboration across the state. MFN offers valuable networking, resources, mentorship, and community for startup founders in Massachusetts.

MFN is produced by Lever, a startup accelerator based in North Adams. Our work is supported by funding from and collaboration with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, based in Westborough.

We’ve been advising and connecting with entrepreneurs for years, and we’re using that knowledge and network to launch something new, with the help of an advisory board of successful founders and major players in the startup ecosystem.

We plan to launch the Massachusetts Founders Network in summer 2023. Sign up for our newsletter to get alerts about our launch, new features, and MFN events!
